What is a Guard Card?
In California, any person wishing to work as a security officer must obtain a Security Guard Registration from the Dept. of Consumer Affairs. This license is often referred to as a Guard Card. It verifies that the U.S. Dept. of Justice and the FBI have researched and cleared the applicant’s background. It also confirms that the applicant has been instructed in the Powers to Arrest.
